Family Trauma Centre

The Family Trauma Centre UK is based on the idea that Trauma when it strikes a family member, it will affect the whole family and not just the individual.

Therefore we as a society have to change the whole idea of how we help an individual by looking at how an individuals trauma related problems, affect all members of the family associated with them. This is a very controversial approach  but one which needs to happen to effectively help the whole family recover.

VFW Banner

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, with its Auxiliaries, includes 2.2 million members in approximately 8,100 Posts worldwide.

Its mission is to "honor the dead by helping the living" through veterans' service, community service, national security and a strong national defense.

The VFW traces its roots back to 1899 when veterans of the Spanish-American War (1898) and the Philippine Insurrection (1899-1902) founded local organizations to secure rights and benefits for their service: Many arrived home wounded or sick. There was no medical care or veterans' pension for them, and theywere left to care for themselves.

Banner for Gwen Star Spirit Website

Ex-Military, now a Writer and Poet, from the old Emerald Isle, and currently living in Sussex. I have a wide variety of interests, and a I have been Writing since my teenage years. Poetry is my release. I have always found it easier to Write how I feel than to voice the words.

I am lucky enough to have been Published in a few little places, with a couple of awards- nothing overly fancy.

Better known perhaps, writing wise, for some of my Memorial Poetry and dedications to the Fallen, and Serving Personnel of the Military, totaling over 150 pieces to date.

My Goal in life is knowledge. I am the type of person to know a little about a lot, rather than a lot about a little. I have probably learned more outside of school than from the school years. 'Life' is my teacher.  The World has taught me much, in lesson and I have been inspired by so much, and by those I am so lucky to have in my life.

Lillians Story

One womans story through the 21st centuary

and what a journey this is! Sally can really write, not only a ride through a really eventful century but a superb and well researched read. The author portrays this in a way that makes it fun, sad and moving, and I could not help but empathise with the characters on many levels. It won't belong before you hear more about this author, quite simply a really good read - I can't wait for it to be a TV drama!

Paddy's Poetry, Prose and Pictures

These poems are a mix of romantic, humorous, and sometimes, sad verses. Some are based on my own experiences or first hand observations. But many are completely fictitious, and simply the product of my imagination.

The time-span and subjects cover my career in the British Army throughout the 1960s; my second career, in the Nottinghamshire Ambulance Service, and so on up to my now state of gentile retirement.

You will also find a short ghost story that draws its inspiration from 16th century Coroners records, and a few photographs of some of my favourite places. I hope that you find something of interest.

Jan Hedger's World of Creative Writing

Eight years ago the words in my imagination found their way onto paper, starting with children's poetry and growing into what it is today, a diverse mix of dancing trees, to the reality of war, from deep emotion to gentle humour, influenced both by my love of music and the natural world. I believe poetry should be accessible to all and one of my greatest joys is performing my poetry to a wide audience.

As a healthcare worker I share my poetry through my work and many of my poems, designed and illustrated on the computer, adorn many a wall of establishments I have worked in.
